Use to be that site utilities meant a simple sewer and water installation. The concept remains the same, but with changing times comes tougher restrictions on materials and installation. One of these restrictions is how storm water run off is handled. In the past, storm water was piped right to the city system. With greater concern today about silt and sediment entering our lakes and rivers, all onsite water today must be “treated” before entering a public sewer. In many cases these days there is no room on-site for a sediment pond to be dug. Treatment has to go underground. These new systems are being developed everyday and are a constant challenge for our employees in installation procedures. |
